Jose Mourinho accused his opposite number Antonio Conte of “humiliating” him and his Manchester United side by whipping the crowd into a frenzy.
The Italian called on the Chelsea support to get behind the team as they led United 4-0 in the dying stages at Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho was filmed talking into Conte’s ear at the final whistle, and according to Sky Italia, he said: “You don’t wind up the crowd at 4-0. You do it at 1-0. It’s humiliating.”
When he was later asked if what he said was complementary, he said: “Of course not, I was speaking in Italian.”
Pedro opened the scoring after just 30 seconds before Gary Cahill, Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante took advantage of a United collapse.
Was Conte right or wrong in asking the fans to support the team at 4-0?
