Sources within the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, have on Monday, during an exclusive chat with Post-Nigeria, called for the immediate resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari, as thousands of Nigerians living in the United Kingdom, UK, reportedly stormed the country’s High Commission in London, demanding a five minutes speech from Buhari.
“The president is terribly sick, the cabals have hijacked his government, let him resign,’’ one of the protesters said.
The protest is in line with the February 6th protest in Nigeria on the deteriorating state of the Nigerian economy.
Recall, Buhari had extended his medical vacation in UK, following his deteriorating health condition.
This is the second of such extension, since Buhari left Nigeria a fortnight ago to travel to London in what his spokesmen described as a vacation cum medical check-up.
Reacting, an APC Chieftain who spoke on the condition of anonymity said” Buhari’s health condition is get worse. Some of the APC chieftains have been secretly mounting pressure on Buhari to resign.
“From Femi Adesina speech, it is quite clear that the president is very sick. That is why the actual date of his arrival is not yet fixed.’’
The source added that Buhari should do the needful by tendering his resignation letter for the sake of the progress of the nation.
As of the time of filing in this report, thousands of protesters in major cities across the country, especially in Lagos and Abuja, have taken over the streets, calling for a quick measure out of the current economic recession.
The anti-government protesters, are condemning the government’s approach to the economy, lack of insecurity and increase in poverty and inflation.
